Synopsis
Princess Meredith faces serious legal trouble in this sixth Merry Gentry novel when King Taranis of the Seelie Court brings rape accusations against her and three of her guards. At the same time, Sir Hugh approaches Merry with an unexpected offer to become queen of the rival Seelie Court, while Taranis himself grows increasingly fixated on fathering children with her. As she navigates these competing pressures, Merry relies on her inner circle of guards and lovers, including Doyle, Frost, Galen, and Rhys, and forms new alliances with figures such as the goblin twins Holly and Ash and other powerful fey. Balancing the false charges, Taranis's obsession, and her own precarious position, Merry works to solidify her power and protect her guards while securing her claim as heir to the Unseelie throne.
