Synopsis
Merry Gentry, a faerie princess competing against her cousin Cel to produce an heir and claim the Unseelie throne, continues her efforts to conceive while navigating dangerous magical politics in this fifth novel of the series. Her connection to ancient faerie powers grows stronger as she works alongside her guard of Ravens to restore magic to the decaying faerie realms, all while evading her cousin's ongoing schemes against her. As Merry's abilities and her standing within the Unseelie Court continue to shift, she must balance the personal stakes of her relationships with her guards against the wider political consequences of the succession contest, with both courts watching closely for any sign of who will ultimately inherit power.
