Synopsis
A Restless Truth continues the trilogy begun in A Marvellous Light, shifting focus to Edwin Courcey's sharp-tongued friend Maud Blyth, Robin's sister, as she boards an ocean liner tasked with protecting an elderly woman who is carrying dangerous magical evidence tied to the conspiracy uncovered in the first book. When the woman dies suddenly during the voyage, Maud finds herself unexpectedly responsible for safeguarding the evidence herself, with suspects, secrets, and potential allies confined together aboard the same ship for the length of the crossing. Forced to identify who among her fellow passengers can be trusted, Maud must navigate a closed, uncertain environment where nearly everyone has a motive, all while trying to keep the larger magical conspiracy from claiming another victim before the ship reaches port.
