Synopsis
Fifteen-year-old Vidanric Renselaeus, the Marquis of Shevraeth, leaves the pleasant kingdom of Remalna for a military academy in Marloven Hess, a land with a violent past that has only recently opened its school to outsiders. Among the Marlovans he is known as Shevraeth. He suspects that young heirs back home are dying in suspicious accidents and that King Galdran, who wants to expand his realm, may be behind it. Learning what command really means, Vidanric makes friends and enemies, while larger conflicts draw the brightest young people of several kingdoms into key roles. It is the prequel to Crown Duel.
