Synopsis
Maspalio, a farfadet and retired prince of thieves, lives a quiet retirement among humans, demons, sirens and other creatures in the baroque city of Abyme. Vladitch, the Advocatus Diaboli, asks him to find Opalin, a demon who has escaped. As he investigates, Maspalio is also accused of murdering one of his friends, which puts his own life at risk. The story blends fantasy with a detective plot and treats the city itself, with its guilds, slums and conjurers, as a character.
