Synopsis
Agone, a young aristocrat who has refused his inheritance, learns that his late father, the Baron de Rochronde, left a last wish. Agone must spend six days at the Collège du Souffre-Jour, after which he may either go back to his wandering life or become baron. In this world of farfadets, fairies, ogres and mages, magic is powered by tiny beings called danseurs. At the college he is drawn into a plot to overthrow the ruling power and finds that his own role in it is far larger than he expected. He is never free again.
