Synopsis
Bloody Bones is the fifth novel in Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series. Anita travels away from St. Louis on a professional case involving a land dispute tied to an old, restless supernatural presence, drawing on her skills as an animator and vampire executioner in an unfamiliar setting away from her usual allies and support network. As the investigation unfolds, her necromantic powers and the vampiric marks binding her to Jean-Claude continue to develop in ways that complicate the case, forcing her to rely on abilities she is still learning to control while working among strangers who do not know or trust her reputation. New threats connected to the local supernatural community emerge alongside the central mystery, testing Anita's judgment and resourcefulness as she works to resolve the situation before it spirals further out of control.
