Synopsis

Cold Copper Tears is the third entry in Glen Cook's Garrett P.I. series, continuing the hardboiled detective adventures of Garrett, an ex-marine private investigator in his early thirties working the streets of TunFaire, capital of Karenta, a city marked by corruption, poverty and a mixed population of humans, elves, dwarves and other fantastical races. Garrett takes on a new case in the city's crowded underworld, once again partnered with the telepathic, centuries-dead Loghyr known as the Dead Man, whose deductive insight helps steer the investigation, and aided by his half-elf assassin-turned-restaurateur friend Morley Dotes. As in the earlier books, the mystery blends conventions of hardboiled detective fiction with TunFaire's supernatural population, sending Garrett through the city's wealthy enclaves and impoverished districts as he works to unravel a case involving figures from the city's magical and criminal underworlds.
