Synopsis

Old Tin Sorrows, the fourth Garrett P.I. novel, again follows Garrett, an ex-marine private investigator who survived Karenta's long generational war with the rival kingdom Venageta before turning to freelance detective work in TunFaire. By this point in the series Garrett has grown more established, with a proper household including his housekeeper Dean and closer ties to the city's underworld and law-enforcement contacts, while still relying on the Dead Man, a telepathic and telekinetic Loghyr corpse, for deductive help, and on his half-elf friend Morley Dotes for muscle and inside knowledge. The book sends Garrett moving between TunFaire's upper crust and its criminal underbelly on a new case, weaving hardboiled detective conventions with the city's magical population and its climate of crime, corruption and general lawlessness as Garrett works to get to the truth behind the assignment.
