Notes
- From the series record (The Chronicles of Castle Brass): Dorian Hawkmoon's own sequel trilogy, continuing directly after The History of the Runestaff tetralogy (SER, Core Canon, internal chronology 1-4). Registered Expanded Canon rather than folded into Core, per the explicit reasoning already on file at Hawkmoon's own admission: this trilogy deepens/crosses over more explicitly with other Eternal Champion incarnations than the tightly-scoped original tetralogy -- its climax (The Quest for Tanelorn) involves Erekose and the entity that inhabited Elric's Stormbringer (Elric Saga). Resolves a previously flagged standing lead.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
- Publication order, within the series The Chronicles of Castle Brass: position 1 of 3: next The Champion of Garathorm (1973)
- Internal chronology, within Hawkmoon: The History of the Runestaff: position 5 of 7: previous The Runestaff (1969) · next The Champion of Garathorm (1973)
