Synopsis
The Oak and the Ram, the second book of the Silver Hand trilogy, follows a more seasoned and battle-tested Corum after his early successes against the Fhoi Myore have shown the Mabden kingdoms that the giant invaders can indeed be defeated. When the Mabden's High King Amergin is captured, the disunited kingdoms lose the figure needed to rally them into a single resistance, and Corum sets out to rescue him while also seeking two further Sidhi artifacts, the Golden Oak and the Silvern Ram, needed to continue the fight. As the conflict widens from a single kingdom's struggle into a threat facing all Mabden lands, Corum works alongside both allies from the earlier books and new companions, all while troubled by a prophecy vague enough that he cannot act to avoid it, yet specific enough to worry him deeply.
