Synopsis
In Deadly Quicksilver Lies, the seventh Garrett P.I. novel, Garrett finds himself short of company and short of money, so when the bounty hunter Winger offers him work investigating a woman named Maggie Jenn, he takes the job. The case grows more complicated when Maggie herself separately hires Garrett to find her missing daughter, Emerald, giving him two angles on the same family. Garrett is soon attacked, knocked unconscious and locked away in a mental ward, and on escaping he learns his attacker is a dangerous figure known as Grange Cleaver, or the Rainmaker, with a fearsome reputation in TunFaire's underworld.
