Synopsis

Petty Pewter Gods, the eighth Garrett P.I. novel, opens with TunFaire adjusting to an uneasy peace after a long war, when Garrett is forcibly recruited by the Godoroth, a faction of minor deities, and tasked with finding a mystical "key" needed to secure a contested temple before their divine rivals, the Shayir, can claim it. As the competition between the two pantheons escalates into open street warfare that spills dangerously into the mortal population, Garrett gains an unlikely ally in Cat, a renegade member of the Shayir camp, while the Dead Man works from Garrett's house to make sense of the gods' competing schemes. What begins as a squabble between minor deities threatens to draw more powerful gods into the conflict, forcing Garrett to find the key and defuse the standoff before TunFaire itself becomes collateral damage.
