Synopsis
Wiesel, the most notorious thief in Askir, is also the foster brother of the future empress Desina. When a series of murders shakes the city, he suspects a link to Desina's coming coronation. As he follows the trail he uncovers a web of intrigue and a deadly betrayal, and he has to fight for his own life and for the future of the whole city. The story is told as a self-contained novel in the Askir world, centred on a different hero from the main companions.
