Synopsis
A mysterious wanderer from the legendary realm of Askir tells the warrior Havald and the half-elf Leandra how that realm broke apart. The tyrant Kolaron of Thalak is pressing outward and threatens to swallow Askir's remaining lands as well. Leandra, Havald and their companions set out for a magic portal that should carry them straight to Askir so that they can warn its people. The gate misleads them: instead of Askir they arrive in the desert kingdom of Bessarein, a dangerous country far from the help they were seeking.
