Synopsis
Dragons of Deceit opens the Dragonlance Destinies trilogy after the noblewoman Destina Rosethorn, who believes herself destined for greatness, loses her father, her family's castle, and her betrothed following his death during the War of the Lance. Unwilling to accept this loss, she resolves to travel back through time to prevent it, a plan that requires two powerful artifacts: the Device of Time Journeying, held by the kender Tasslehoff Burrfoot, and a second, more dangerous device capable of actually altering time. Her search carries her from the dwarven kingdom of Thorbardin to the town of Solace as she gathers what she needs, drawing Tasslehoff into her scheme even as her determination to rewrite her own history threatens consequences far beyond her own family's fate.
