Synopsis
Dragons of the Dwarven Depths is set between two of the original Dragonlance Chronicles novels, opening after the Heroes of the Lance free slaves held at Pax Tharkas. Leading refugees toward safety while pursued by the Dragonarmy, the companions, including Flint Fireforge, Tanis Half-Elven, Raistlin and Caramon Majere, Sturm Brightblade, Riverwind, and Tasslehoff Burrfoot, seek shelter in the dwarven kingdom of Thorbardin. There they hope to recover the legendary Hammer of Kharas, needed to unite the divided dwarven clans against the invasion, but after entering the underground realm they are arrested when a cursed enchanted helm is discovered among them.
