Synopsis

Dragonslayer (2000) is the fourth novel in William King's Gotrek and Felix series, picking up as Gotrek and Felix make their way home aboard a magical airship after the events of the previous book. A violent storm forces the airship down in the Worlds Edge Mountains, stranding the pair in hostile, unfamiliar territory. There they disturb a creature of legend, a dragon guarding a vast hoard of gold deep within the mountains, while an invading orc army also converges on the same remote region. Caught between the awakened dragon and the orc horde, with no easy way home, Gotrek and Felix must survive one of the most perilous situations of their travels together, as Felix continues to chronicle his companion's relentless pursuit of a heroic death.

Notes

  • From the series record (Gotrek and Felix): A seven-novel tie-in sword-and-sorcery sequence (1999-2003) for a tabletop miniatures-game setting, following a dwarf monster-slayer and his human chronicler. The founding author's run is treated as its own complete, self-contained sequence; the same characters were later continued by several other, different authors in books not catalogued here.
