Synopsis

Emerald Blaze finds Catalina Baylor working as deputy to the Warden of Texas, a role that pulls her directly into the investigation of the gruesome murder of Felix Morton and the killing of a Prime at a hazardous magical waste site known as the Pit. As the inquiry uncovers ties between the deaths and the volatile factions competing for influence in Houston's magical underworld, House Baylor itself comes under direct attack, threatening the family's hard-won standing. Forced to rely once again on Alessandro Sagredo, the Prime who once broke her heart, Catalina must set aside old grievances to work alongside him, even as their renewed partnership brings fresh complications. The pair must untangle the true scope of the conspiracy before it claims more victims, while Catalina wrestles with how far she can trust Alessandro's motives this time.
