Synopsis
Enchanter continues the Axis Trilogy after the events of Battleaxe, set in the same fantasy world shared by the Acharites, the bird-like Icarii, and the forest-dwelling Avar. Following the major battle fought at Gorkenfort, Axis, a powerful enchanter, works to unite the three peoples against the evil Gorgrael and his Skraeling armies, a task that requires winning the trust of the wary Icarii and confronting the ongoing hostility of his cruel half-brother Borneheld, who is bent on destroying him out of jealousy and thwarted ambition. Axis's personal life grows equally complicated as he finds himself torn between Faraday, the noblewoman he is prophesied to marry, and his deepening feelings for the warrior woman Azhure, even as Faraday endures her unhappy marriage to Borneheld while awaiting a chance at freedom.
