Synopsis
Falling in a Sea of Stars is the eighth novel in the Green Rider series, set after Sacoridia's victory over the Second Empire. Messenger Karigan G'ladheon hopes for a return to normal life, but her father's departure on a mission to rescue Laren Mapstone leaves the family trading business in disarray and short-handed. The reawakening of the ancient sorcerer-tyrant Mornhavon the Black upends any calm, as he frees two undead wraiths from their tombs and sets them to hunt Karigan down. At the Harvest Ball she is confronted by one of these wraiths, a revived enemy she had believed defeated, and the encounter leaves her falling through darkness in a way no one can explain. King Zachary is left waiting anxiously for her return, aware that Karigan's fate may be tied to Sacoridia's ability to withstand whatever Mornhavon is planning next.
