Synopsis
Fifteen-year-old Senrid has just become king of the warrior kingdom of Marloven Hess, only to lose it and flee for his life. After he is captured he overhears a secret that could help him against the invaders. He faces a more dangerous enemy in Siamis, a charming young man who can read minds and enchant people through conversation. Liere, a lonely young woman who can hear others' thoughts and sense their true feelings, becomes a fugitive when Siamis enchants her entire village. Senrid and Liere are very different, but both seek the magic that can undo the world-wide enchantment.
