Synopsis

Friday Night Bites picks up roughly ten months after Chicago's vampires publicly revealed their existence to the human population, who have come to treat the city's vampire Houses with a mixture of curiosity and celebrity fascination. Merit, now settled into her uneasy role as Sentinel of Cadogan House, finds herself acting as an informal go-between for humans and vampires, working to keep the darker realities of vampire life, including Raves, mass feedings in which vampires round up unsuspecting humans, hidden from public view before they can spark panic or violence. Balancing her ties to her own human family with her obligations to Ethan Sullivan and Cadogan House, Merit contends with an antagonist carrying long-standing grievances against the vampire community, whose opposition to any real peace between humans and vampires threatens to unravel the fragile balance she has been working to maintain.
