Synopsis

In Twice Bitten, Merit, still adjusting to her new existence as one of Chicago's vampires, is assigned to protect Gabriel Keene, leader of the North American Central Pack of shapeshifters, while quietly gathering intelligence on his Pack for Cadogan House. As tensions rise between vampires and shifters and someone begins targeting Keene directly, Merit is drawn into the middle of a dangerous supernatural conflict she did not choose. Her master, Ethan Sullivan, oversees her continued combat training to prepare her for the assignment, even as their working relationship grows more complicated by an unresolved attraction between them. Balancing her duties to Cadogan House, her uneasy alliance with the shifters, and her own safety, Merit must navigate a mission that tests both her physical abilities and her judgment as threats to Keene escalate around her.
