Synopsis
Gilded Latten Bones, the thirteenth Garrett P.I. novel, catches up with Garrett as he tries to settle into a quieter, more stable life with his partner Tinnie Tate. Those plans unravel when Garrett discovers that hired intruders have been sent to kidnap Tinnie, and as he starts investigating who is behind the plot, his closest friend is targeted by violence as well. The central question driving Garrett's inquiry is whether the two attacks come from separate enemies acting independently or from a single antagonist coordinating both, since if they are connected, Garrett himself may be next in line. With the Dead Man's insight and his usual TunFaire contacts to draw on, Garrett has to weigh loyalty and love against his own safety as he works out who wants to hurt the people closest to him and why.
