Synopsis
Rhian has won her throne, but Ethrea is still divided, her marriage is strained and her alliances are fragile, and across the sea the empire of Mijak, led by the Empress Hekat, who hears the voice of the god and believes she is commanded to conquer the known world, is coming. Estranged from her allies, Rhian must convince the rulers of the surrounding nations that Mijak is a real threat, while Zandakar, Hekat's own son, exiled and turned against the god he was raised to serve, trains Ethrea's defenders in Mijak's way of fighting and faces the family he fled. Prophecy, faith and blood ties shape the final confrontation, and the trilogy concludes with the battle between Mijak and Ethrea, on which the fate of every land the empress has not yet reached depends.

Notes
- From the series record (Godspeaker Trilogy): Karen Miller's dark theocratic epic of two lands, the blood-soaked desert empire of Mijak and the island kingdom of Ethrea: Hekat, a slave girl who hears the god and rises to be Mijak's empress, and Rhian, the princess who must hold Ethrea's throne against its own lords and then against Mijak.
