Synopsis
Happy Hour in Hell, published by Tad Williams in 2013, is the second novel of the Bobby Dollar series. Bobby Dollar's demon lover Caz, the Countess of Cold Hands, is being held against her will by the Hell prince Eligor, and Bobby resolves to descend into Hell itself to rescue her. Disguised and largely on his own, he must make his way through the hellish landscape, negotiating with demons and lost souls while trying to avoid discovery by forces far more powerful than himself. Complicating matters, Bobby's superiors in Heaven are increasingly displeased with him over the unresolved disappearance of his best friend Sam, and old enemies he had believed dead reassert themselves against him. As his rescue mission unfolds, Bobby is forced to confront uncomfortable truths about how Heaven and Hell actually operate behind their official doctrines.
