Synopsis

House of Sky and Breath, the second book in Sarah J. Maas's Crescent City series, picks up after the events of the first novel, as Bryce Quinlan and Hunt Athalar try to return to ordinary life in Lunathion and keep their relationship platonic until an agreed-upon date. Bryce settles into work at the Fae Archives while adjusting to her unexpected status as a fae princess, and Hunt faces new uncertainty as Celestina, an unfamiliar Archangel, takes command over him. Both are drawn into matters they had hoped to avoid: Bryce uncovers information connecting a young thunderbird named Emile, and his sister Sofie Renast, to secrets involving her late friend Danika, while questions mount about the rebel Ophion movement opposing the Asteri. Faced with dangers neither of them sought out, Bryce and Hunt must decide how far they are willing to go to protect the people around them.
