Synopsis
Into the Labyrinth is set largely within the Labyrinth, the harsh prison-realm the ancient Sartan built to contain the Patryn people, to which Haplo must return. He carries knowledge crucial to reaching the legendary Seventh Gate, rumored to grant whoever passes through it the power to create and destroy worlds, though he himself does not fully grasp what he knows. His journey is complicated by two assassins sent after him by his own Patryn lord, Xar: the mercenary Hugh the Hand and Haplo's former lover Marit, whose loyalties are far from settled, leaving Haplo unsure which of the two poses the greater danger.
