Synopsis
Iron Angel, published by Alan Campbell in 2008, continues the Deepgate Codex after Scar Night. The chained city of Deepgate lies in ruins, its militia brutally suppressing citizens desperate to flee, while Rachel Hael and the angel Dill find themselves imprisoned and tortured in the Temple's dungeons for their role in the disaster that overtook the city. A foul red mist begins rising from the abyss beneath Deepgate, a sign of stranger and more dangerous forces stirring below, forcing Rachel and Dill to escape captivity and set out across the hostile Deadsands toward distant lands, and eventually toward Hell itself. Their journey unfolds against the backdrop of a looming war between Hell's armies and the forces of Earth, as divine beings move to seal a breach between worlds that Rachel and Dill's earlier actions helped tear open.
