Synopsis
Jason is the twenty-third entry in the Anita Blake series, a novella centered on the relationships within Anita's polyamorous household in St. Louis. Jason Schuyler, one of Anita's werewolf lovers, is struggling to explain to his girlfriend J.J. that he needs a rougher, more intense form of intimacy than she is able or willing to give him, straining their new relationship. At the same time, Anita, a necromancer and federal marshal, is facing her own compatibility problems with Jade, her first female lover, unsure whether their difficulties come from inexperience or something more fundamental. To work through both problems at once, the group invites J.J. to stay with them in St. Louis, hoping that time together will let Jason and J.J. find common ground while Anita gains insight into her own needs, leading the household toward an unconventional shared solution.
