Synopsis

King of Foxes continues the Conclave of Shadows trilogy immediately after Talwin Hawkins has taken service with the Duke of Olasko, the man responsible for annihilating his people. Working from inside the duke's court, Talwin plots a slow campaign to dismantle his enemy's power from within, all while concealing his true identity and intentions. When the duke turns on him and hands him over to a neighboring king, Talwin must escape captivity and begin an open war against his former master, whose schemes are revealed to have been guided by the sorcerer Leso Varen. As the conflict escalates from covert sabotage to outright confrontation, Talwin's search for vengeance is complicated by unexpected discoveries about the fate of his people and the true scope of what the duke and his advisor have been planning.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
