Synopsis
Talon of the Silver Hawk opens the Conclave of Shadows trilogy with the story of a boy of the Orosini, a mountain tribe, who receives the name Talon of the Silver Hawk during a vision quest shortly before his entire people are slaughtered on the orders of a duke seeking to conceal a secret. Rescued and trained by agents of the mysterious Conclave of Shadows, the boy adopts the identity of a nobleman, Talwin Hawkins, and is groomed over years in swordsmanship, politics and self-control, all in service of a single goal: gaining the position and power needed to reach the man responsible for destroying his people. The novel follows his transformation from a grieving tribal survivor into a calculating agent capable of infiltrating the highest circles of power, ending as he finally enters the service of the duke he intends to bring down.
