Synopsis

In Kingdom of the Wicked, Derek Landy's seventh book of the series, Sanctuary detectives Skulduggery Pleasant and Valkyrie Cain investigate a wave of ordinary people who have mysteriously gained magical powers, working alongside new sorcerers including Doran, Kitana, and Elsie as the phenomenon spreads. Their inquiry leads them toward an enigmatic figure named Argeddion, who appears to be the source behind these sudden abilities, and toward a dangerous individual capable of traveling between dimensions. As the pair dig deeper, they uncover signs of an alternate reality ruled by a hostile sorcerer, while Sanctuary authorities consider using the ancient Sceptre of the Ancients to contain the growing threat. Valkyrie and Skulduggery must determine how Argeddion is connected to the newly empowered civilians and stop the situation from spiraling further out of control.
