Synopsis
The Orc Empire has lived in peace beside the Kingdom of Men. Beyond a poorly kept wall live the fierce Yurdioni, whose attack topples the Orc Empire and overwhelms the Kingdom of Men. The Yurdioni have filled their ranks with children taken from the human world. One of them, Arsiel, carries the blood of Rankstrail and Rosa Alba and a memory of the elven spinning top, a symbol of infinity based on the golden spiral. Among the advancing Yurdioni marches Kail, a descendant of Rankstrail, who hides a spinning top in his worn jacket. An old prophecy by Arduin, the Lord of Light, promises that men will rise again and freedom will return, led by four unlikely figures: a despised soldier, a young woman of doubtful reputation, a whining child and a gifted liar.
