Synopsis
Winter has frozen the Lands of the Inner Sea, and gods and people alike are preparing for a war that will begin when the grass turns green. The robber Twardokęsek is in a sour mood, because his companions Szarka and the witch have sailed away to the Zwajeckie Islands without him. He goes back to robbing travellers, working with a noble-born bandit named Bogorii. Then he is given an honourable job escorting supply convoys for the rebels, and he hears of a legendary treasure belonging to the priests of Żalnik, hidden in the Wilcze Jary. Twardokęsek has little patriotic feeling, but he starts planning the biggest robbery of his career.
