Synopsis

Half-human Cal Leandros and his brother Niko are struggling to make their supernatural investigation business pay, even in a New York crawling with vampires, trolls and other monsters for anyone who knows where to look. Work arrives when a vampire hires them to find his kidnapped lamia girlfriend, but they find her dead alongside several human victims, killed by something they cannot identify. Then a curator from the Metropolitan Museum of Art asks them to recover a missing exhibit, which turns out to be Sawney Beane, a murderer from the past, once believed human, who has been brought back and is hunting the city's people like livestock. At the same time their friend Robin Goodfellow, a puck, is being hunted for a crime he committed thousands of years ago, and the brothers, with Niko's vampire girlfriend Promise, have to protect him while stopping the killer.
