Synopsis
Magic Breaks is the seventh Kate Daniels novel. As the Beast Lord's mate, Kate now juggles her own investigative business with growing responsibilities within the Pack, all while bracing for an attack from Roland, the ancient sorcerer whose shadow has followed her for years. When a Master of the Dead is murdered under circumstances that point toward a Pack shapeshifter, Kate is given less than twenty-four hours to find the real culprit before the accusation ignites a war between the Pack and the necromancers' guild that oversees the city's undead. Hugh d'Ambray's return to Atlanta only deepens the crisis, as his manipulations threaten to trap Kate's own household in a confrontation neither she nor Curran is fully prepared for. With tensions between factions rising fast, Kate must untangle the frame-up before the fragile peace holding the city together collapses entirely.
