Synopsis

Magic Slays is the fifth Kate Daniels novel. Having recently left her position with the Order of Merciful Aid to run her own investigative business, Kate is pulled into a case involving the kidnapping of an associate and the theft of a device rumored to be capable of stripping magic from its surroundings entirely, a technology with obvious and alarming military potential. As Kate traces the device and its kidnappers through Atlanta's fractured magical underworld, she discovers that a militant, human-supremacist faction has gotten hold of the weapon and intends to use it to strike a devastating blow against the city's magical population. Racing to recover both the kidnapped associate and the device before it can be deployed, Kate finds herself confronting a threat that could permanently unbalance the fragile coexistence between Atlanta's human and magical communities.
