Synopsis

Twelfth in the Chicagoland Vampires series, the novel picks up Merit's ongoing role as Sentinel of Chicago's Cadogan House, working alongside Master vampire Ethan Sullivan. A breach at the House exposes a vampire acting under the influence of dark magic, and a mysterious mark begins spreading among the city's vampires, hinting at forbidden sorcery from the House's past. As unease grows between vampires and the city's other supernatural factions, Merit and Ethan must trace the mark's origin before it can be used as a weapon against Cadogan House itself. With an old enemy maneuvering in the shadows and alliances across Chicago's supernatural community growing strained, Merit is drawn into an investigation that tests both her combat skills and her loyalty to the House she has sworn to protect.
