Synopsis
Skeeve returns from retirement to M.Y.T.H. Inc. expecting to resume leadership, but finds himself competing with his old partner Aahz for control of the company. With their friends lending help but showing no favorites, the two take opposite sides of the next case to walk through the door, turning it into a contest over who will run things.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
