Synopsis

Nihal della Terra del Vento, the first novel in Licia Troisi's Chronicles of the Emerged World trilogy, is set in the Emerged World, a realm made up of eight distinct lands, and opens in the Land of the Wind, where Nihal, a half-elf marked out by her violet eyes, pointed ears, and blue hair, has been raised by her father, a blacksmith, in a tower-city and has grown into a strong, agile natural leader among her peers. Her sheltered upbringing is upended when the Tyrant, who has already conquered five of the Emerged World's eight lands, launches an invasion of the Land of the Wind itself, forcing Nihal to abandon childhood and train as a warrior to defend her home and its people.
