Synopsis
Not Exactly the Three Musketeers is the eighth novel in the Guardians of the Flame series, shifting its focus from the original Other Siders to a new set of protagonists serving Castle Cullinane. Three soldiers, Durine, Kethol and Pirojil, are sent by the Dowager Empress on a mission to a distant barony, where they must uncover why a young noblewoman is being forced into an unwanted marriage. What begins as a straightforward investigation draws the three soldiers into local political intrigue, testing their loyalty to the settlement's ideals against the realities of a nobility they were not raised to navigate.
