Synopsis

Prince of the Blood opens Krondor's Sons, a series following the twin sons of Prince Arutha of Krondor. Borric and Erland, now young men, are sent to the Empire of Great Kesh to attend the Empress's seventy-fifth birthday celebration, accompanied by companions including James, Locklear, Gamina and the eccentric Nakor. Their journey exposes them to a court thick with intrigue, and Locklear becomes implicated in the murder of the woman expected to become the Empress's heir, threatening to reignite war between the Kingdom and Kesh. When slavers separate Borric from the group and sell him into bondage in the port city of Durbin, he must find a way to escape and cross hostile territory to rejoin his brother, while Erland is left to navigate the imperial court's shifting loyalties and mounting suspicion alone.

Notes

  • From the series record (Krondor's Sons): Distinct from, and not to be confused with, The Riftwar Legacy (the Krondor game novelizations).

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
