Synopsis

Set five years after The Dying of the Light and opening the sequel series, this tenth book, Derek Landy's Resurrection, published in 2017, finds a now 24-year-old Valkyrie Cain living quietly at Grimwood House when Skulduggery Pleasant draws her back into action. Temper Fray, an undercover operative working for Skulduggery, goes missing while spying on the Anti-Sanctuary, a faction of sorcerers seeking to provoke war between mortals and magic users. Valkyrie's return to the field takes her and Skulduggery into Roarhaven, the hidden magical city, to investigate Temper's disappearance and the extremist group's growing activity. The book also introduces a new younger sorcerer, Omen Darkly, whose storyline runs alongside Valkyrie and Skulduggery's investigation as the threat from the Anti-Sanctuary comes into focus.
