Synopsis

The Dying of the Light, Derek Landy's ninth book, concluding the original story arc, picks up directly from the events of Last Stand of Dead Men. Skulduggery Pleasant, without Valkyrie Cain by his side, is forced to work alongside her Reflection, an independent copy of Valkyrie usually kept dormant and generally regarded as unstable, as they try to track down and stop Darquesse before she can bring about global destruction. The story is set five years before its sequel Resurrection, and follows Skulduggery adjusting to this unfamiliar partnership while the threat posed by Darquesse continues to loom over the world. The confrontation surrounding Valkyrie Cain's fate remains the central thread as Skulduggery and the Reflection race to locate Darquesse before it is too late.
