Synopsis
Having already faced down a malevolent jumbie once before, Corinne La Mer is drawn back into her island's world of folklore when neighboring children begin to vanish without explanation, and suspicion for the disappearances falls unfairly on her. Determined to clear her name and find the missing children, Corinne turns to friends Bouki, Dru, and Malik for help, and together they seek out Mama D'Leau, a powerful and famously deceptive sea-dwelling jumbie who may hold the answers they need. Mama D'Leau agrees to help, but only in exchange for a dangerous favor: traveling all the way to West Africa to retrieve a long-lost treasure on her behalf, leaving Corinne and her friends uncertain whether the fearsome jumbie can be trusted to keep her side of the bargain.
