Synopsis
River Marked continues the Mercy Thompson series shortly after Mercy and Adam's wedding, as Mercy learns that she is not the only person to have inherited shapeshifting ability from her father's people, a discovery that raises new questions about her own nature and history. At the same time, something dark begins stirring along the Columbia River, drawing attention from both humans and the supernatural community as disappearances and strange occurrences mount near the water. Mercy and her newly bonded mate Adam travel to investigate, hoping to understand what is happening before more people are harmed, and to seek answers about the older, little-understood magic tied to Mercy's heritage. As they get closer to the source of the disturbance, they find themselves navigating traditions and dangers well outside their usual territory, forcing them to rely on unfamiliar allies and knowledge neither of them fully possesses.
