Synopsis
Secrets of the First School, published by T.L. Huchu in 2025, concludes Edinburgh Nights. Ropa Moyo begins the novel in dire straits, banished to the Other Place after the events of the previous book, and must find a way to escape death itself before she can do anything else. Scottish magic lies largely destroyed or corrupted, and the villain Henry Dundas, leading a cult with ambitions to seize total power, has kidnapped Ropa's sister as part of his scheme to make himself king, god, and more. Caught between the demands of the English Sorcerer Royal and Scotland's own ruling king, Ropa must return from beyond death, rescue her sister, and confront Dundas's cult directly, bringing the series' escalating conflicts, from small, low-stakes exorcisms to a fight over magic's entire institutional order, to their final head.
