Synopsis
In the kingdom of Alkyra, old tales speak of a time when humans shared the land with peoples who had magic in their blood, among them the Wyrd, the Shee and the Neira. Alethia, daughter of a leading noble family, has little time for stories; she worries about political discontent at home and rumours of war. On the night after her twentieth birthday she is kidnapped by the Lithmern, an ancient enemy who are raising an army. Cut off from help, Alethia must turn to the half-forgotten legends and discover that the magic they describe is real if she is to save her kingdom.
